Information and Referral calls are taken during operational hours.  Callers benefit from the extensive knowledge base of the Adaptables, as well as the staff's own past experiences.

The Adaptables also handles advocacy.  Information and Referral callers are often in need of help that goes beyond simple I&R.  Consumers can rely on the past experiences and knowledge of the Adaptables to help them through difficult situations.

The Adaptables also performs in-home and nursing home visits on request, to ensure need care is received.

Computers are donated to the Adaptables, refurbished, and upgraded.  A complete system is available to persons with disabilities for a small fee.

Classes are held at the Adaptables, training in email, web use, and Microsoft Word basics.

NC Assistive Technology can also help persons with disabilities choose the correct assistive computer equipment for their needs.
